No School Monday January 19: There is no School on Monday, January 19 for the MLK Jr. holiday. We will be on the regular Odd/Even learning schedule when we return to school on Tuesday, January 20. Go to our website to view the bell schedule.

Capuchino Boys & Girls Swim Sign-Ups: Attention Capuchino students!

Come make LEGO flowers at lunch. This is a creative approach, no flower lego sets or instructions, just you, your creativity and lots of lego bricks to choose from. See you there!
Spirit Day for Friday January 23rd
The Mustang’s New Year’s resolution is to have more spirit, so start looking out for our new Friday Spirit days! MUSTANG, WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR? Show up to school on Friday, January 23, decked out in YOUR favorite color! The Mustang can’t wait to see your spirit! If you are required to wear a uniform for sports, that counts too!

Programming Calendar: Starting in February, CHS Counselors will begin programming students for the 2026-27 school year. Students will receive Course Offerings and Programming worksheets to complete and bring to their one-on-one meeting.
11th grade:
Week of Feb 2 - Classroom Lessons (Counselors deliver lessons in 11th grade English classes)
Week of Feb 9 - One on one meetings (Counselors meet with each 11th grader to confirm course requests for 12th grade)
10th grade
Week of Feb 16 - Classroom Lessons (Counselors deliver lessons in 10th grade English classes)
Week of Feb 23 - One on one meetings (Counselors meet with each 10th grader to confirm course requests for 11th grade)
9th grade
Week of Mar 2 - Classroom Lessons (Counselors deliver lessons in 9th grade English classes)
Week of Mar 9 - One on one meetings (Counselors meet with each 9th grader to confirm course requests for 10th grade)
Upcoming Alternate Bell Schedule: There is no School for students on Monday, January 26 or 27 for educator professional development. We will be on the 1-7 bell schedule on Tuesday, January 28. January 29 we are on the Odd Block schedule and January 30 we are on the Even Block schedule.
Catch the IB Office at 10th & 11th grade Counseling Night! 10th & 11th grade Counseling Night is on Jan 29 at 630. Come see the IB Office starting at 6PM in the lobby of the theater to answer questions about IB. Happy 2026 from LPO: Inviting Latino Parents to an important Meeting Capuchino families, Join us for our LPO 2026 meeting this Thursday, January 22 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. Be informed, learn, and be part of the decisions that strengthen our community and support our students. We will have Special guests. Your voice counts and your presence makes a difference. It will be held in Spanish.

FREE Youth Heart Screening Event: Youth Heart Screenings Save Lives! Saturday, February 21, 2026: 10 AM – 3 PM

Register today! This event is for all youth ages 12-25 (youth does not need to be a SMUHSD student). Please see attached flyers for more details and information below regarding why youth heart screenings are essential!
*1 in 300 youth has an undetected heart condition that puts them at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).
*The current standard approach to health history and annual physical examinations misses about 90% of at-risk youth.
*Early detection of heart abnormalities, which often go undetected until a traumatic cardiac event, can save lives.

Robotics Club: Robotics meets twice a week in Ms. Valletta's room D5. At lunch on Tuesdays and after school on Wednesdays. Please join us as we learn to build robotic cars, make 3D prints, and program.
Spanish Club / Club de Español: Are you looking to meet other Spanish speakers and learners? Do you hope to travel to a Spanish speaking country one day? Are you interested in learning about the music, art, culture, and food in Spanish speaking countries? Come join the Spanish Club. We meet every Tuesday at lunch in A301- Profesora Adamcikova's classroom.
Tennis Club: The Tennis Club will be meeting on the tennis courts at lunch on Tuesdays. Bring your racket if you have one.
Wednesday
Environmental Club: If you're interested in learning more about environmental issues and want to help initiate change within the community through our various projects and events, come join us every other Wednesday at lunch in room D-6!
Latinos Unidos: Join us on Wednesdays at lunch in H136, Ms. Alvarez’s classroom! Come learn about the Latino Culture and have fun while you're at it! We would love to see you all there! Bring your friends! Todos son bienvenidos/Everyone is welcome
Math Club: Come to A202 on Wednesdays at lunch to make friends, do math puzzles, participate in contests. It looks good on your college applications. Join today.
Capuchino Photography Club: Hey Mustangs! Are you interested in learning about aspects of photography such as Photoshop, Lightroom, DSLR or Mirrorless Cameras, and Photography techniques? Join Capuchino Photography Club, we meet every Wednesday at lunch in room C113, Ms. Duscha’s Room! See you there!

Chess Club: Do you like to play chess? Would you like to learn? Come join the chess club every Thursday at lunch in room A203.
Sewing Club: Do you want to learn how to make apparel and not just wear it? Do you love designing? Do you have an idea for a brand? Ever wonder how sewing promotes mental health and environment-friendly habits? Then, do I have the club for you! The Sewing Club meets on Thursdays in room H214 (Ms. Lemire) during lunch. All beginners are welcome! WE WILL TEACH YOU! **Don't have to be a Grandma to join.
Interact Club Meeting: Would you like to make our community a better place? Join Capuchino’s Interact Club. We meet on Thursdays in front of the Main Gym at lunch. Interact Club is a community service club that focuses on community bonding!
