CHS Weekly Bulletin: January 20-24, 2025

 

SPECIAL SCHOOL SCHEDULES

No School Monday, January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Tuesday-Friday we are on our regular Block Schedule.

No School for Students: January 27 and 28 are professional development days for staff members. We will be on the 1-7 bell schedule when we return on January 29, Odd Block Schedule on January 30 and Even Block Schedule on January 31. SPORTS

Baseball Tryouts: Any student interested in trying out for the Capuchino baseball team, there is a mandatory meeting Wednesday, January 22 at the beginning of lunch in the main gym. There will be important information given for the tryouts. See you there.

Capuchino Mustang Varsity Wrestling undefeated in duals is going up against Half Moon Bay High School for PAL Bay Division League title. This is our last duel meet at home as well as Senior Night! Come support your Mustang Wrestlers at HOME this Thursday, January 23 at 5pm in the Main Gym. Pack the stands and invite your friends and family.

9th Grade Hot Chocolate Sales 5th Period (Cozy Cocoa Comeback)

Hello Mustangs! With the new year ahead of us comes the Cozy Cocoa Comeback! Come to Room H225 during lunch from January 15th to January 22nd to order sweet hot cocoa for a friend or yourself! Orders will be delivered on Thursday, January 23rd during 1st period. Price is $3!

February Winter Formal Info Sheet 

Winter formal will be on February 22, 2025 and will be at San Mateo college. Come to have a fun night under the lanterns!This year’s winter formal is all about having fun! Come in confident and comfortable clothing, meaning don’t feel pressured to spend a bunch of money on what you wear. Focus on the memories you make and the experience you’re having. You do not need a date to attend. Go solo, go with a friend, or a group of friends, or show up to meet some new friends.

Office Information for Ticket Clearance 

Beginning Monday, January 13th up until Friday, February 21st, students who have 5 or more unexcused period absences are ineligible to attend the dance. 

Happy 2025 from LPO: Dear CHS families, Join us for our Latino Parent Organization meeting Thursday, January 23 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. Our Wellness Counselor will be talking about the importance of protecting our families' emotional and mental health. We will identify the resources and support the school has to offer. The meeting will be held in Spanish. 

CLUB NEWS

Club Meetings

CLUB MEETINGS MEET AT LUNCH UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED

Monday

French Club:  Bonjour Mustangs! French Club meets at lunch in Mr. Olsen's room, A205. All students are welcome; you don't need to take French to join. See you at lunch in room A205! Merci!

Leo's Club:  Do you like helping out your community while getting some volunteer hours? Come to LEOs club! Meetings in room D4 (Ms. Iufer’s room) at lunch every other Monday! Follow on Instagram to stay updated with events and meetings: 

SAGA, the Sexuality and Gender Alliance Club:  Come Mondays to the Sexuality and Gender Alliance Club.  If you are questioning your sexuality and want to meet others who are cool and accepting, come to room A202 on Mondays at Lunch.  If your fun and outgoing, or even if you're shy and want to meet nice people, this is the place to be.  All people are welcome here.  A202 at lunch Mondays!

Tuesdays

Animal Science Club: Meets on Tuesday at lunch in D-2 Animal Science Club is geared towards students who are interested in learning about animals and the ways in which we can support wildlife. The Club is a fun and educational way to explore the wide variety of animals around us. All are welcome!

Latinos Unidos: Hola Mustangs, Latinos Unidos meets every other Tuesday in H136, Ms. Alvarez's room.  Come learn about the club.  We look forward to seeing you!

Microorganism Club: The microorganism club is meeting on Tuesdays at lunch! Stop by room D8 at lunch to grow, study, and learn about all kinds of different microorganisms like bacteria and fungi! If you're interested in biology or biochemistry, this is the club for you! All grades are welcome! See you there!

Wednesdays

Bible Study Club: Wednesdays in H101, Ms. Tanti's class, at lunch. (+QNA Thu. @lunch)

Math Club: Come enjoy your lunch in room A202 on Wednesdays with Mr. Meyers and meet people interested in math.  You can challenge yourself with interesting problems, or just hang out.  Joining a club looks good on your college application.  See you Wednesday!

Polynesian Club: The Poly Club is for everyone!  Come join us in the Dance room at lunch on Wednesdays

Vinyl Club: The goal of Vinyl Club is to introduce students to new artists and genres of music. Students are also encouraged to bring in their own music collection (CDs, vinyls, etc.) and talk about their music taste with other members. We meet in C107, Ceramics Studio, at lunch! Join us!

Thursdays

Chess Club: The Chess Club will be meeting every Thursday at lunch in A203. Come play chess!

Cap Kababayan: Come to H212 (Mr. Manalo's) at Lunch for Capuchino's Kababayan Club! We are here to create space and celebrate Filipino culture. You do NOT need to be Filipino to join - and we can't wait to see you there!

Interact Club:  Learn about our upcoming events and look back on previous events. Also, claim 30 minutes of FREE community service to stand out in college resumes and qualify for scholarships! We meet every other week in Ms Vaccarezza's room  H107 at lunch.

If you are looking to start a club or submit a club for approval, please check in with your club advisor. All materials will be sent to them. Students will work with an advisor to create a club, but the paperwork must be submitted by the advisor.
