7 Period Final is this Friday, May 23: Review Week and 7 period Final Week Bell Schedule: Please note, Monday & Wednesday are Even Period days, Tuesday & Thursday are Odd Period days. THIS WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS

Join us for Senior Scholarship Night! Senior Scholarship Awards Night will be held May 21 at 7:00 p.m. (immediately following the Senior IB reception). Seniors being honored will be receiving an invitation by May 19* but all students and families are welcome to attend in the theater!  (Canvas "observers" will also receive notice).

Latino Families LPO meeting(Latino Parent Organization): Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 pm in the Cafeteria. Capuchino Families & Staff. We invite you to celebrate the closing of the school year together at our LPO Latino Parents' Meeting. It will be a special time to share, recognize the year's accomplishments, and strengthen our community. All grades are invited. We will provide vital information for the upcoming 25-26 school year. It will be Pot-Luck style. Feel free to bring something to share (not mandatory). This meeting will be in Spanish.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES: (From Inside the Class of H225) 

Summer and Welcome Day Volunteers 

Sign up in H225 to be made aware of summer volunteer work to help set up summer activities or new student Welcome Day in August. You will stop into H225 to sign up for alerts and the Remind app to get notifications. 

Clothing Drive (Drop is outside H225 from May 19-May 23) 

Hey Mustangs, we are seeking donations for clothing such as T-shirts, sweatpants, jeans, jackets, and hoodies. (No underwear or socks).

We will hold some items for our Cap families in need and then transition items to a local shelter for those in need.

Frosh Sales Wednesday May 21 After School 

Hey Mustangs, the freshmen council is selling italian soda at Bywaters room H225 on May 21st Wednesday after school for 4$. Hope to see you there!  

Sophomore Council Fundraiser May 21 

Hey Mustangs, Your Sophomore council Is having a fundraiser with a local deli Grandelader on San Mateo Ave Wednesday, May 21st. We invite all Cap Students and Family to help us raise money for the sophomore Council. Please show the instagram flyer or this message to the deli.

Book Donations for H225 Book Nook 

If you have any Young Adult Books you would like to donate to our student book nook. Please drop them off to the office labeled for H225 or directly to H225. 

CLUB NEWS

Bible Study: Living out His word, one verse at a time! Come join us every Wednesday in H101 @ Lunch for Bible study! No prior knowledge is needed so we hope to see you soon, God bless! 

Club Meetings

CLUB MEETINGS MEET AT LUNCH UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED

Monday

French Club:  Bonjour Mustangs! French Club meets at lunch in Mr. Olsen's room, A205. All students are welcome; you don't need to take French to join. See you at lunch in room A205! Merci!

Leo's Club:  Do you like helping out your community while getting some volunteer hours? Come to LEOs club! Meetings in room D4 (Ms. Iufer’s room) at lunch every other Monday! Follow on Instagram to stay updated with events and meetings: 

Join Korean Club: Learn about Korean culture with us! We have Korean food and snacks you can indulge in! Come join us for our first meeting on February 10th;  we meet every other Monday in H222, Ms. Kuy’s classroom.

Tuesdays

Latinos Unidos: Hola Mustangs, Latinos Unidos meets every other Tuesday in H136, Ms. Alvarez's room.  Come learn about the club.  We look forward to seeing you!

Microorganism Club: The microorganism club is meeting on Tuesdays at lunch! Stop by room D8 at lunch to grow, study, and learn about all kinds of different microorganisms like bacteria and fungi! If you're interested in biology or biochemistry, this is the club for you! All grades are welcome! See you there!

Wednesdays

Bible Study Club: Wednesdays in H101, Ms. Tanti's class, at lunch. (+QNA Thu. @lunch)

Math Club: Come enjoy your lunch in room A202 on Wednesdays with Mr. Meyers and meet people interested in math.  You can challenge yourself with interesting problems, or just hang out.  Joining a club looks good on your college application.  See you Wednesday!

Polynesian Club: The Poly Club is for everyone!  Come join us in the Dance room at lunch on Wednesdays

Vinyl Club: The goal of Vinyl Club is to introduce students to new artists and genres of music. Students are also encouraged to bring in their own music collection (CDs, vinyls, etc.) and talk about their music taste with other members. We meet in C107, Ceramics Studio, at lunch! Join us!

Thursdays

Chess Club: The Chess Club will be meeting every Thursday at lunch in A203. Come play chess!

Crochet Club:  Interested in learning how to crochet or need a space to practice your skills at school? Stop by Ms. Yoo’s room (H-246) on Thursdays at Lunch for Crochet Club! For more information about the club, fill out this form: https://forms.gle/Qmyd9nmdrWGk82c89

Cap Kababayan: Come to H212 (Mr. Manalo's) at Lunch for Capuchino's Kababayan Club! We are here to create space and celebrate Filipino culture. You do NOT need to be Filipino to join - and we can't wait to see you there!

Interact Club:  Learn about our upcoming events and look back on previous events. Also, claim 30 minutes of FREE community service to stand out in college resumes and qualify for scholarships! We meet every other week in Ms Vaccarezza's room  H107 at lunch.

SAGA, the Sexuality and Gender Alliance Club:  Thursdays.  It is a safe place for people to hang out and make friends. Come to the wellness room A303 on Thursdays at Lunch.  All people are welcome here. 

Fridays

Drama Club: Are you ready to kick off the Drama season!?! Come to Ms. Lemire’s room (H214) Fridays at Lunch. See you there!

Looking to Start a Club?

If you are looking to start a club or submit a club for approval, please check in with your club advisor. All materials will be sent to them. Students will work with an advisor to create a club, but the paperwork must be submitted by the advisor. Drop by H225 if you have any questions.  Please contact Mr. Bywater at dbywater@smuhsd.org for information regarding clubs and other student activities.
