Assistant Principal Deyango Harris
I have been an educator for the past 15 years. I began my career as a special educator at Vintage HS in Napa for 10 years. During my time at Vintage I fulfilled a variety of leadership roles. My most cherished role was leading the Vintage Effect, which were social gatherings for all staff and their families. Those gatherings gave me an opportunity for me to showcase my championship winning BBQ skills. My family made the decision to move to Martinez in 2017. I went on to work in the Mount Diablo Unified District for the past five years at College Park HS, and Valley View MS as a resource specialist. While at College Park I coached track and field helped create a student and staff end of the year video. During this time, I made the decision to take on educational leadership in a higher capacity. Heeding the advice of friends, family, and mentors I applied and was accepted to UC Berkeley’s Principal Leadership Institute. A significant and proud accomplishment for myself and my family.
I am ecstatic to begin the next chapter of my educational journey as an assistant principal at Capuchino HS. I look forward to getting to know the Capuchino community
