October 25, 2022

Dear Capuchino,

The school year has been off to a great start so far. Students are engaged in rigorous curriculum and teachers are constantly collaborating with each other. Staff is working extremely hard to support the whole child with their academic progress to social-emotional support. I have enjoyed getting to know students while observing classrooms, lunch supervision, and at extracurricular activities.  Campus life is vibrant with our music program competing in different events to prepare for their upcoming show. We recently enjoyed a successful homecoming week which culminated with the homecoming dance.  The night turned out to be a great and memorable evening for our students. We are looking forward to the battle of the strip against our cross town rivals on November 4th at Mills HIgh School beginning at 4:00PM.  We are still looking for a PTO president for this school year.  If interested please email me for details. Below you will find a set of school-wide updates. As always, if you have questions or feedback, I urge you to reach out to myself or a staff member directly.

8th Grade Night

CHS will host our annual 8th Grade Family Night on Oct. 25 at 6:30PM. In the Main Theater.   We will commence  the event with a brief presentation and then families will have an opportunity to visit several different classrooms.  It’s always so special to meet and greet incoming families during this event.  We welcome the Class of 2027 in the coming months as they transition to Cap! More information can be found here.   We have also published information throughout the San Bruno and Millbrae communities so they are aware and will hopefully attend and see what CHS has to offer.

CHS Athletic Complex

Construction on our full athletic complex is in its final stages and we are anticipating that the baseball field will be done by the end of November. The softball field, practice field, and tennis courts have been completed and students are already taking advantage of the new state of the art facilities. Thank you to the entire community for their support as well as for your patience during the construction period. Our outdoor facilities at Cap will be the jewel on the peninsula, providing an enormous benefit to our students and the community.

CHS Wellness Services

CHS Wellness Counselors offer a safe space at school where any student can receive confidential and nonjudgmental socio-emotional support.  Students can learn positive, lifelong habits that contribute to their well-being and success. Your Wellness Team provides individual, group, and/or drop-in support as needed. To access Wellness services, please visit during drop-in hours, request an appointment, or connect with your school counselor.  To learn more about our CHS Mental Health Services, please visit our website.

Panorama Parent/Guardian Survey

In order to get better each year, we need your input on the areas where we are doing well and how we can get better. Our students and staff have completed their portion of the Panorama survey and we hope you, our wonderful parents/guardians, will do the same. You will find the survey and information linked here.

Halloween Costumes

Halloween is quickly approaching and we wanted to remind students and families that if students come to school in costumes they follow the  guidelines that are linked here. As a school we encourage students to take part in dress up as long as it is appropriate and fit within these guidelines.
