The San Mateo Union High School District adheres to the philosophy that the School Counseling Program is an essential and integral part of the overall education process.  The mission of the school counselors is to provide a comprehensive counseling program addressing the academic, career, personal and social development of all students.  In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians and the community, school counselors facilitate and implement the support system at each school site. This support system ensures that all students in the San Mateo Union High School District have access to a quality education and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute as productive members of society.
