9th Grade Counseling Activities
- Counselors will deliver a fall lesson in class for all 9thth graders.
- Lesson will include an introduction to our counseling program; academics; career; and social emotional
- In the spring, counselors will see students for 10th grade schedule planning and will follow up with students in a 1:1 meeting.

Freshman Year Action Checklist
- Set goals for yourself. Will you be trying for a 4 year college?
- Know Capuchino graduation and A-G college entrance requirements.
- Participate in activities (sports, clubs, hobbies) that interest you
- All 9th graders will get a California College account.
- Create a 4 year plan on California Colleges.
- Get to know supportive adults on campus (Wellness Counselors, Student Success Coordinator and College and Career Person)
- Meet with your teachers, ask for help when you need it, attend after school tutoring
- Develop good study habits & organizational skills
- Talk to you counselor to plan the most challenging 10th grade courses you can handle
- Consider taking AS classes
- Use your summer: sign up for summer activities and programs (consider taking a college course at Skyline or CSM)
