Jay Oca is the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Capuchino High School, bringing more than two decades of experience in high school football and education. He has been coaching at Capuchino since 2018 and has coached high school football since 2002.
Coach Oca joined the Capuchino campus as a teacher in 2017, where he currently serves as Athletic Director. He began his career in education as a Special Education teacher in 2004, and came to Capuchino to continue his teaching and leadership work with students and student-athletes.
As Head Coach at Capuchino, Coach Oca has led the program to sustained competitive success. Under his leadership, the Mustangs captured the PAL Ocean Division League Championship in 2023 and the PAL De Anza Division League Championship in 2024. He was named PAL Ocean Division Coach of the Year in 2023 and earned recognition as a San Francisco 49ers Coach of the Week in 2023, adding to a previous 49ers Coach of the Week honor in 2014.
Coach Oca is committed to developing disciplined, accountable, and resilient young men. His program emphasizes fundamentals, preparation, and mental toughness, while maintaining high expectations in the classroom and in the community. He believes athletics play a vital role in teaching leadership, perseverance, and teamwork.
Coach Oca’s mission is to build a football program rooted in character, pride, and excellence—preparing student-athletes for success long after their playing days are over.
