Capuchino's Cross Country Team
Capuchino's Cross Country team has done very well this season. The team's focus this year was not only to have tons of fun but also to make it to CCS for the Cross Country Championships. Training for the Peninsula Athletic League began by running after school 2 to 6 miles each day in order to train their bodies for the physical and mental strain they would go through during competitions. Competitions between over 15 cross country teams were on Thursdays in Belmont. During these weekly meets, many runners received their personal records; runners beat their personal records by up to four minutes! On November 6th, PALs arrived, and Capuchino's Cross Country team had the hopes of having the Boys Varsity qualify for CCS as a team. Capuchino runners ran their hardest and received much praise. From the PAL meet, we had three runners qualify to race in the CCS meet: Aaron Jones a freshman, Alyssa Blandino a junior, and Grace Luttrell a senior. Although our Boys Varsity team didn't make it to CCS, the Varsity Boys ran their best race as a team as they all completed the three-mile trail in less than twenty-one minutes, according to Coach Trimble. The CCS meet occurred on Saturday November 15, and our three Capuchino representatives raced the even harder trail with their best efforts. Great job, Cross Capuchino Cross Country Team!
