This profile is a picture of key descriptors that characterize the successful IB student. It is designed as a discussion piece for helping students and their parents arrive at a decision about their degree of participation in the IB Program..

The Three IB Student Profile Areas:

  1. Academic Background and Performance
    • Review of the student’s transcript and overall GPA
    • Courses being taken this current school year
    • Review of summer school options
  1. Personal Qualities and Assets
  • Solid foundation for academic learning: strong reader and writer, good study and time management skills and organization skills
  • A capable learner, good thinker, open-minded
  • An adequate problem solver: self-manager, communicator, able and willing to ask for help
  • Dependable, reliable, responsible
  • A self-starter, motivated, creative
  • Open to interaction with other in team settings, group meetings, and community service
  • Growing in maturity, willing to learn from temporary setbacks and to listen to advice
  • A personal interest in the IB Program itself and an identifiable focus for the student’s IB pathway
