11th and 12th Grades

Students declare themselves to be Diploma Candidates at the start of their Junior year.
They must choose six courses, one from each Group, to be taken over the next two years:
three High Level (HL) and three Standard Level (SL) or four Higher Level (HL) and two Standard Level (SL)

Group 1 English HL, SL

Group 2 Spanish HL, SL, or ab initio
French HL, SL, or ab initio
Mandarin HL, SL, or ab initio

Group 3 History of the Americas HL, SL

Group 4 Biology HL, SL
Chemistry SL

Group 5 Mathematics SL
Math Studies SL

Group 6 Visual Arts HL, SL
Theater Arts HL, SL
Film HL, SL
Dance HL, SL
2nd language from Group 2
2nd science from Group 4

Additional requirements:

Theory of Knowledge
Course taken during second semester of Junior year and first semester of Senior year
Creativity, Action Service (CAS)
150 hours of involvement over Junior and Senior years
Extended Essay
Independent research project
