Lab Procedures

 

Individual Use
>>Prior to sitting down, look for the binder in which you will record:

>>Follow all computer lab rules:

Do not:

  • Download files
  • Check email

    • Do not go into:

  • Chat rooms
  • Game sites
  • Cheat sites
  • Auction sites
  • Joke sites
  • Free stuff via email
    		•

    Printing:

  • Print only 1 copy of a completed Microsoft Word document ready to be turned in to your teacher. Be sure there are no extra pages prior to printing (File/Print Preview)
  • Never press print more than once. If your document is taking a while to print, ask for help rather than re-pressing print.
  • Do not print any pages at all from the Internet.
  • If you must keep information from the Internet, select, copy and paste the piece that you want on to a Microsoft Word document. Save your document into your Novell account. Be sure to cite the source of the information. OR
  • Save the web page into your Novell folder.

    Images:

  • Do not copy and paste images.
  • Save images into your Novell folder.
  • Insert images into the document you are creating.
  • Do not print images not included in a document.
  • Never print a PowerPoint presentation.

    >>Follow all school and media center rules

    >>Log off of your Novell account. If it is 7th period, shut down the computer upon completion of your work via the Start menu.

    >>Leave your computer area as neat as when you arrived, i.e. remove all trash and push in your chair.

    Class Use
    >>Your teacher will complete a seating chart for each class period in the LMC lab.

    >>Sit in the seat to which you are assigned for each particular class, i.e. 4th period Geometry/Computer #5

    >>Do not sign in because we already have a record of your name and computer number via the seating chart. This will save time during classes.

    >>All other procedures are the same as for individual lab use above.
